would it be ok to use dishwashing liquid?
would u recomment anything?
or should we get those shampoo for cats?Is it ok to use human shampoo for cats?
i think you should use shampoo for cats ... cause after all it is made specially for cats so if your not shure don't risk it .. but you could always ask a vet and it won cost you a penny or you can try going onlineIs it ok to use human shampoo for cats?
it is NOT ok to use human shampoo for any animals it could acually hurt them... i wouldnt use dishwasher liquid either... i reccomend that you go to a vet or a animal medical place and buy the shampoo there but if there is a person you dont know trying to sell it to you then dont buy it it might have something in it that could kill your pet...even if you go to a pet store then buy it there it would be absolutly fine for an example Agway in New York would be a goood place to go to...
Do not use dishwashing liquid on a cat. It's too harsh for the fur and skin. If you have to use any human shampoo, use diluted baby shampoo and rinse very very well.
We had to wash our long haired cat twice (long and very silly story) and found that a thimble of baby shampoo diluted with about 3 to 4 cups of warm water did the trick of washing tree sap from her. The rinsing took the longest part but it was well worth it.
I would avoid some of those fancier human shampoos as they tend to contain a lot of chemicals and fragrance which your cat will then lick off (bleah).
If you want to get a special cat shampoo then that is also fine but be prepared to pay quite a bit for one. One cat I had had feline eczema and so needed a special tar based (yes, tar based) shampoo. A little 100mL bottle set me back $25.00...and that was back in 1980!
No it isn't. Cats have even more sensitive skin than dogs %26amp; dogs can't be bathe in ppl shampoos either. Buy a good pet shampoo that is safe to use on cats. It will say on the label - the best ones to buy do not contain soap or detergent. Do not buy the cheap grocery store brands. Ppl shampoos %26amp; detergents contain sulfates %26amp; other irritates like perfumes %26amp; ETOH that shouldn't used on pets only humans.
Best to get cat shampoo (not dog/puppy). If you use human shampoos, then get the quality kind like Pantane, Nexxus, etc.
Dawn dish soap is sometimes used for a quick flea bath before you get the flea medication from the vet (like when you need to get fleas off a cat that you've just brought in the house).
I show cats and my cats have been washed in Nexxus for years with no problems. If you know what kind to use, you are safe.
No! Do not use human shampoo or dish washing liquid. Both are too drying for the cat's skin. WalMart, Pet Smart, PetCo, etc. all carry a variety of cat shampoo's. Why exactly are you having to shampoo your cat? I've owned cats for 32 years and have only bathed my cats when they had fleas once or twice. Cats are very clean and will take care of their own washing. The only exception to this rule is for long haired cats need grooming. Grooming consists of brushing or combing. If in doubt, call the vet for advice.
no because it could make them sick or even die. don't do that to you cat ok that's bad for them and it makes their hair stick up badly .
remember this ok. do not use dish washing liquid because it could kill them badly.
