Could it be the flea shampoo?

My brother in law has a 7 yr ld wimarainer(spelling srry). Yesterday they gave him a bath w/ flea shampoo and this morning he has no function in his hind legs. He has appt with the vet in a few hours just thought I would get some input.Could it be the flea shampoo?
YES, Flea and tick medications and shampoo's are Chemicals and not as safe as people seem to think. There are many sites online that have forums of people telling their horror stories of this nature. I feel for the dog. Do some searches for the brand and I am positive you will find some warnings.

Over the counter products have a very bad reputation of injuring animals.Could it be the flea shampoo?
Probably not. Good you are seeing the vet.
i would say that after a bath a dog will run around like they are crazy! he might have injured the back legs doing this and the lameness is showing up today. i really do not belive its the shampoo.
No, they've managed to 'injure' his back while bathing him, but it may not be 'bad' because the bath was yesterday and the 'non-function' didn't start until this morning ... it's probably just a 'pinched nerve' but he does need to be seen and treated by a vet ASAP.
Could be.. That's why you should get your medications from the vet, rather than the petstore... Could be a number of things, but it very well could be the flea shampoo.
