It is always best to shampoo them, because no matter what's wrong, you're likely to get most of your deposit back.When moving out is it your responsability to shampoo and steam clean the carpets or is that wear and tear?
It should be mentioned in the rental agreement or in the walk through paperwork. If it is not then they are responsible for cleaning it.
